Communications Manager

I used to think I’d be happy just sitting at my computer writing stories all day long, all by myself. But something changed all that.

I raised five kids. That’s 5 kids from 2 moms and 4 dads. When my first son’s daddy died before he was two weeks old, I became a single mother. Not easy.

In a few years I remarried and I had two more kids. Much better.

Then we adopted two more kids who carried the scars of a childhood of neglect. Really tough.

Communications Manager

During the stormy voyage of parenting, there were times when I wanted to jump ship, to quit. I might have, if not for the amazing support I got from my family, my friends, and my faith in Jesus Christ. Can you imagine what would have happened to my kids if I had quit?

I know other parents need the same support I have. So I want to be there for them. I want to see their kids grow up in healthy homes, too.

That’s why I work at Choices. Here I get to use my writing to reach out to parents and parents-to-be online. And after work I still get time to hang out with my family, go canoeing, raise chickens, read good books, and write stories. Ah…
