My Pregnant Friend: What Will She Find at Choices Pregnancy Center?

If you have a friend facing an unexpected pregnancy, you’re probably here looking for a place where she could get the help she wants.

Choices Pregnancy Center—in both Redwood Falls and Marshall, Minnesota—is that kind of place. We’re here to help women—and men—looking for support in handling a pregnancy they weren’t planning on.

What do we mean by “support”? Our kind of support includes:

  • Having a chance to express their concerns and ask their questions in a confidential and safe place
  • Receiving truthful and complete answers about all their options in pregnancy
  • Getting crucial medical information about the status of their pregnancy, through a nurse-read pregnancy test, STI testing if needed, and limited obstetrical ultrasound
  • Connecting with people and resources that can help them move forward on the path they choose

Now let's talk about what that support will look like when your friend comes to Choices.

Now, a bit about our staff

It takes several well-trained people to deliver all of our services. Your friend can expect to meet some of them at the very first appointment, so let us tell you a little about them.

We have one executive director who oversees both locations. Your friend may or may not meet her, depending on where she’s working the day of their appointment.

At each of our locations, we have a licensed (RN) nurse to provide all our medical services. Overseeing both of them is our medical director, a practicing MD in an area hospital, who works remotely to make our diagnoses and prescribe treatments.

Client advocates work most closely with our clients, answering questions, connecting them with resources, and providing education and training for pregnancy and parenting. Our advocates are the people your friend is most likely to get to know well.

Our Marshall office has an office manager who is most likely to greet your friend when she arrives there. Our office manager works behind the scenes to keeps things running smoothly.

All these people form a caring team that will make sure your friend receives personal, compassionate, non-judgmental care as she plans her way forward.

What your friend won’t find at Choices Pregnancy Center

Your friend won’t experience any of these things:

  • Pressure to choose one option. We believe that women (and men) can make wise decisions when given all the information and resources they need. We empower them to choose.
  • Biased information, driven by financial motivation. All our services are free of charge to our clients, thanks to our generous donors. Because we do not benefit financially from our clients’ choices, we can be fully transparent about all their options.
  • Referral for abortion. We believe that every human life, whether already born or still in the womb, is a gift from God. We do not provide or refer for services that intentionally end a human life.
  • Quick fixes or easy answers. We understand that pregnancy decisions are full of complexity, so we give every woman time to consider her options from multiple angles, and to align her choices with her own values and her unique situation.

Still curious? Come see us.

We welcome visitors at both our locations. However, to protect our clients’ privacy, we would ask you to call ahead so we can schedule your visit. Simply reach out here and ask for the location closest to your friend.
