Just because pregnancy snuck up on you doesn’t mean you have to face it without any support. With our extensive community network, Choices Pregnancy Center can provide you with referrals to a wide range of people who can give you the support you need.
Our connections can help you meet a variety of needs. Read on for a sampling.
Parenting Support
Parenting education is available through one-on-one streaming lessons tailored to your specific needs and interests, through our Earn While You Learn program. Details of that no-cost program are here.
Another helpful state-wide resource is Nurse-Family Partnership. Having them on your team will build your confidence, especially if you didn’t have great parenting role models of your own.
If you’d like to make friends who are also parenting while learning from one another in supportive environments, let us know. We can connect you with groups near both of our centers.
Material Support
If you, like many parents, worry about how you will meet the tangible needs of your children, we can help. We would love to provide you with free baby equipment, diapers, clothes, and more through our Baby Buck Boutique—a perk of our Earn While You Learn program.
We can also help connect you with WIC, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children. This national program serves eligible pregnant women, new mothers, babies, and young children with nutrition and breastfeeding education and counseling. WIC also provides nutritious foods and referrals to health and other social services.
For additional assistance with things like housing, food, and transportation, we often refer clients to United Community Action Partnership.
Just let us know what you need, and we can help you find it.
Medical Support
If you want to find a local prenatal health care, our nurse can provide referrals to providers in your area.
Many of our clients come with questions and concerns about medical insurance. While all of our services (including our medical services) are free, you may want to have medical insurance to cover costs associated with your health care provider.
The qualifications for medical insurance are different once you are pregnant. So we will be glad to discuss your current insurance status with you, and offer online resources to help you navigate insurance through the State of Minnesota. We can also give local referrals to Public Health if you want further assistance walking through this process.
Other service referrals can include midwives and local clinics, depending on your location.
Abortion Pill Reversal
If you have taken the first pill of the abortion pill regimen within the last 72 hours and then regretted that choice, there are medical professionals who can administer the abortion pill reversal protocol. This is a strong dose of progesterone—the same medication used for decades to prevent miscarriage—designed to halt the abortion and preserve a healthy pregnancy. Read more about that option here.
You can contact The Abortion Pill Rescue Network directly
through their 24/7 hotline, 877-558-0333
or through the Abortion Pill Rescue website.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to talk to our nurse or client advocates.
A Pregnancy Center Closer to You
If you've found Choices Pregnancy Center but live too far from either of our offices to access our services, ask us for a referral to a center with similar services located closer to you.
Adoption Assistance
If you want to look into making an adoption plan for your child, we can give you an extensive list of adoption agencies you might choose to work with. We don’t directly refer clients to adoption agencies, since adoption is such an important personal decision. We prefer to offer you the names of reputable agencies and let you make that connection.
Escaping Domestic Violence or Trafficking
If you don’t feel safe in your current home, be sure to share that with your advocate at Choices Pregnancy Center for a quick referral to WRAP (WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Program).
We care strongly about helping our clients avoid being trapped in unhealthy, abusive, or violent relationships. When you share your story with your Choices advocate, she will listen carefully and assist you in finding all the help you need to get out of danger and into safety.
You deserve to be cared for, protected, and supported through pregnancy and beyond.
Let the caring team at Choices Pregnancy Center help you connect with all the support you need during your pregnancy and parenting experience. We care about mothers and families. We’ll do everything we can to see them thrive and live happy lives.
